In a world defined by perpetual transformation, one thing remains constant: the
power of youth to shape the course of society. Young people have always embodied
the zeitgeist of their societies. Today, as we stand on the threshold of a new era, it
is the remarkable Generation Z who radiate influence, transcending conventional
boundaries.

Enter Khadi, an age-old narrative, a precious textile heritage deeply intertwined
with India’s story. It is a fabric that is deeply etched in our hearts. And yet, sometimes
it is the most familiar things that contain the greatest potential to astound us.
Khadi, in its texture, conceals values of identity, sustainability and mindfulness-
words that are as relevant today, if not more, as they were decades ago. ‘Visualising

Khadi’s Future’ is an attempt to bring these values forward. It aims to offer a fresh
dialogue for Khadi, depicting its relevance against an ever changing consumer
landscape through the use of visuals.

The project is not about boxing an idea in and finding the singular best way to
present Khadi. Because, that’s the beauty of the fabric — that it’s not singular. It is
so incredibly versatile and dynamic. It is a million things. It is a textile, it is culture, a
history, a memory, it’s love.
Embarking on a journey spanning four months, my project culminated in the creation of a captivating mixed media coffee table book titled 'Interwoven.' This book served as a testament to my research and evolving understanding throughout the endeavour and the photography I undertook for various themes.
Rooted in the heart of Gen Z, 'Interwoven' intricately weaves together three overarching themes, each influencing and overlapping with the others. Through a harmonious blend of written narratives, visuals, and interactive elements, the book transcends generational boundaries, inviting readers to explore the interconnectivity of these themes.
More than just a visual feast, 'Interwoven' aims to bring human connection and tactility closer to its audience, encouraging meaningful interactions. As the pages unfold, the book serves as a source of inspiration, urging readers to connect with one another, appreciate the timeless beauty of Khadi, and delve into its rich heritage.
